To comply with international financial regulations, Looniebit is required by law to verify your identity and residential address before processing transactions. Most clients are asked to submit a Proof of Address (POA) document as part of this verification process.
What Counts as Valid Proof of Address?
You must provide a clear, official document that includes your full name and current residential address.
It must be issued within the last 6 months and meet one of the following categories:
- A recent utility bill (gas, electricity, internet, or landline telephone)
Note: Mobile phone bills are not accepted
- A car or home insurance policy with your address listed
- A document issued by a government agency that includes your address
- An income or property tax statement or receipt
- A social insurance document showing your address
- A letter from your employer or a licensed employment agency
- A bank, building society, or credit card statement
- A Vehicle Registration Certificate
What Does Not Count as Proof of Address?
Avoid sending the following, as they will not be accepted:
- Any kind of invoice (e.g., from Amazon, eBay, moving companies, etc.)
- A photo of the envelope only, the full document is required
- We cannot accept documents addressed to family members
How Should the Document Be Captured?
To ensure your POA is accepted, follow these guidelines when taking the photo:
- The image must be clear and in focus
- The entire document must be visible, no cropped edges or cut corners
- No fingers or hands blocking any part of the document
- Place the document on a plain, solid-colored surface (avoid distracting patterns)
- Take the photo in a well-lit environment
- Do not use flash, as it can create light reflections that make the text unreadable
